ROTOMOULDING WORKSHOP
by Matrix Polymers x OREX ROTOMOULDING
Szczyrk/Chybie, POLAND

The two-day event organised jointly by OREX ROTOMOULDING and Matrix Polymers was the first workshop of its kind for companies from Poland and the Czech Republic.

It quickly became clear, however, that it was going to be much more than just another industry training event.

We originally planned a small, focused workshop for 20–30 people. In the end, nearly 30 rotomoulding companies joined us, bringing the total number of participants, including our own teams, to almost 90.

Safe to say, it grew a little beyond the original plan.

From the outset, we set ourselves an ambitious goal: to fit as much genuinely useful, practical knowledge as possible into two days.

But the real value came from being able to discuss challenges where they actually happen, on the production floor, next to the machines, with the process running in front of us.

It soon became clear that, regardless of the products we manufacture, the size of our businesses or the markets we serve, rotomoulders face many of the same challenges.

That made for remarkably open conversations, practical observations and genuinely valuable technical exchange.

Day one took place at Mercure Szczyrk Resort, surrounded by the Beskid Mountains, with a programme of presentations, technical sessions and discussions covering both process technology and production economics.

And a small piece of trivia: did you know it is the longest hotel in Europe?

“Only” 330 metres long. 📏

The central theme of the workshop was:

LESS MATERIAL, MORE PROFIT: DRIVING COST EFFICIENCY WITH EVOLVE TECHNOLOGY

It goes straight to the heart of one of the key challenges facing rotomoulders today: how do we improve production efficiency, reduce material consumption and maintain the performance our products require?

Matrix Polymers shared its perspective and the thinking behind EVOLVE technology, offering a clear view of where material innovation can help manufacturers achieve more with less.

Huge credit to the Matrix Polymers team for continuing to develop solutions around the real challenges rotomoulders face every day.

On day two, we moved to the headquarters of OREX ROTOMOULDING, based in a former sugar factory with more than 140 years of history.

This was where theory met practice.

Live workshops on the production floor. Material trials. Process observation. Discussions beside the machines. Results analysed together in real production conditions.

Exactly how technical knowledge should be shared in our industry.

Bringing an event of this scale together was no small undertaking. We wanted the space to work simultaneously as a testing environment, a hands-on workshop and a place where people could have less formal conversations and exchange ideas freely.

Both teams put a great deal of preparation into the practical sessions, allowing participants not simply to hear about the technology, but to see it working in practice.

There was room for a little creativity too.

One unexpected highlight was our rotating food tables, built using the trolley systems and arms from a CAROUSEL machine. 😁

Siemens, it looks like your servomotors have officially found another application. 😉

But what will stay with us most is neither the machinery nor the presentations, not even the rotating tables.

It is the atmosphere.

Dozens of companies that operate in the same markets, and in many cases compete with one another every day, came together in one place and openly shared experiences, challenges and technical insights.

That says a great deal about the value of bringing the rotomoulding community closer together.

When knowledge is shared openly, the whole industry moves forward.

One thing is certain:

this was not a one-off.

The next edition will be bigger, even more hands-on and even more closely focused on the challenges manufacturers face in real production environments.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for your time, your questions, your engagement and, above all, your openness.

🎥 We have prepared a short video recap from the event.

We hope they capture at least some of the energy and atmosphere of those two intense days.

Enjoy watching!
